- Closure: Cork
The departure of Dominique Portet, has seen the emergence of a new style of wine at Taltarni, with primary fruit flavours very much to the forefront. Medium body, deep crimson colour. Aroma of spice, confectionary, hint of ‘animal’ and ripe plum- quite appealing. On the palate flavours of spice and blackpepper are supported by distinct blackberry flavours which are well supported by a fine tannin structure. Excellent balance, followed by long blackberry plum aftertaste. Cellar 2-3 years.
Retasted: November 2001
Produced from 25 year old vines. Medium body, bright crimson colour, with nose of earth, spice and hint of leather, followed by end notes of stewed fruit and liquorice. The palate flavours are light, with some earthy spice characteristics appearing. Fine grained, dry firmish tannins, followed by earthy spice aftertaste. Cellar 2-3 years. (2003-2004)
