- Closure: Cork
Brian Croser describes this wine as a Claret which is rather surprising for a winemaker of his standing, referring to a long disused English term for wines coming from Bordeaux. The blend consists of 58% Malbec, with the other components held at 14% each. Bright crimson colour with crimson hue. Medium body. The nose is appealing with aroma of blackcurrant, spice and violets, followed by raspberry and liquorice. The palate flavours are a touch light, with stewed fruit and blackcurrant emerging. Moderate length, a touch of leafiness is evident. Fine dry tannins, followed by a long stewed fruit and blackcurrant aftertaste.
Cellar 2-3 years (2004-2005)
