Bright, deep straw colour, showing some oxidative handling. Subtle nose, with nuances of grapefruit, cold tea, nut, yeast lees and butterscotch. Mouthfilling, creamy palate with plenty of flavour. A very good Chardonnay which is already beginning to show considerable bottle development. Bright gold colour. The nose displays intensity with notes of yeast lees, butterscotch and biscuit followed by fig and melon end notes with a layer of toasted honey also emerging. The palate is starting to dry out and displays flavours of spice, honey, a hint of grapefruit and biscuit. The acidity is quite crisp still, followed by an aftertaste of cashews, grapefruit and hazelnut.
Cellar 1-2 years. (2003-2004)
