Yet another grape grower, who has decided to have wine made from his grapes. The Schild Family have been in the Barossa Valley since 1952, and have vineyards planted on the Western slopes of the Barossa Ranges and Jacobs Creek. Ed and Michael Schild are the vignerons and John Zilm is the winemaker. Bright straw colour. Well developed nose, with aroma of tea leaf and tropical fruit over a grassy background. The palate flavours are a touch light, with confectionary, green tea and tropical fruit flavours present, over a delicate herbaceous back palate. Soft acid finish. Drink up.
