1999 Redbank Sally's Paddock Dry Red

Made from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Cabernet Franc and Merlot. Very deep crimson colour. Refined, Bordeaux like wine with aromas of cedar, spice and dark chocolate. The palate ought to have totally mesmerised us, but alas has failed to do so. The wine lacks depth and complexity and one struggles to justify the price tag. Elegant is a description that would be applied – flavours of spice and blackcurrant emerge with hints of liquorice and stewed fruit. Fine grained tannins. Aftertaste of stewed fruits, cedar and plums. Cellar 3-4 years.
