Grape variety: 100% Nebbiolo
Region: The commune of Barbaresco in Piemonte in Northern Italy.
Production: Fermentation occurs at 30ºC for 18 days on the skins during which time Malolactic fermentation takes place. After fermentation the wine spends 20 months in large oak barrels and more than six months in the bottle prior to release.
Characteristics: Garnet red with orange reflections, turning to brick red with age. It has a delicate bouquet with a hint of violets and wild forest fruits. The palate is very dry, full and robust with an austere yet velvety finish.
Serve: 18-20ºC and open several hours prior to serving.
Try With: Mature Cheese, both soft and hard as well as poultry, grilled and boiled meats.
