A well made commercial style, but without the intense fruit flavours of past vintages. Made from a blend of Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc.Medium bodied, brick red colour. The nose displays aroma of spice, vanilla, confectionery and blackcurrant. Straightforward palate flavours of plum, spice and blackcurrant. Fine grained tannins. Soft acid finish. Cellar 2-3 years.

Retasted: November 2001
This wine has been made from a blend of Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Medium body, brick red colour with crimson edge. The colour is very disturbing for such a young wine. Aroma of spice, leather and stewed fruit, followed by a hint of earth on the nose, showing a considerable amount of bottle development. The palate is rather ordinary and none of the typical voluptuous fruit flavours that Peter Lehmann wines usually deliver. Fine firmish tannins. Aftertaste of stewed fruit and leather. This Clancy's is far from being Legendary. Drink up. (2001)
