Notes sourced from Noon Winery.

Deep red in colour, with a lovely marriage of ripe berry fruit and brandy spirit on the nose. Rich sweet palate of excellent depth, with long finish and lovely sweetness/tannin balance. Fabulous to drink with creamy blue cheeses or rich dried fruit cakes (panforte is perfect). Matures very slowly. Drink now – 2010+

It is a shame there is not more of the Noon V.P. The wine was made from 80-year old Grenache vines and fortified with alcohol, giving it a dry vintage port character. It is a dense, viscous, full-bodied, after-dinner cheese course wine with extraordinary levels of black fruits, notes of kirsch liqueur, pepper, and spice. It is hard to know how it will age, but I would assume 10-15 years is well within a conservative estimate. The flavor and characteristics are unlike anything I have tasted from the Old or New World. It is an undeniably singular expression that is a riveting wine in its own right.
