1999 Marienberg Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon

This wine has spent 20 months in new and one year old French oak. Very deep brick red colour with dark brick red hue, showing considerable bottle development. The tertiary notes seem to have developed early, with aroma of old leather, cedar and spice emerging. The palate flavours are drying out, leaving behind very spicy stewed fruit and cedar flavours. The dry tannin structure lingers, followed by a cedar, leather and stewed fruit aftertaste.
