A wine from an unfashionable year, that has been well made and drinking superbly now. Very deep crimson brick red colour with deep crimson brick red hue. Aroma of violets, blackcurrant, spice and cedar followed by a confectionary endnote. The palate reveals flavours of blackcurrant, cedar, spice and liquorice, which are supported by velvet smooth, fine grained tannins. Perfect balance. A wine at it’s peak.

First tasted, November 2002:
Produced from 35 year old vines. The wine is one of the classics from Lindemans. Deep crimson colour, with deep crimson hue. Aroma of spice, violets and ripe plum followed by a hint of cedar. The palate displays strong plum, stewed fruit and blackpepper flavours, followed by a cedar background. Fine, dry tannins, just a touch assertive at this stage, followed by a distinct blackpepper aftertaste.
