1999 Leeuwin Estate Siblings Sauvignon Blanc Semillon

Made from a blend of 52% Sauvignon Blanc and 48% Semillon. A youthful straw green colour. Sweet lifted fruit with notes of citrus blossom and a fine savoury freshness are immediately apparent on the nose. There is also an interesting touch of cloves indicating the barrel fermentation of a considerable part of the Sauvignon Blanc.On the palate the fresh fruit is predominant with a crisp, nicely balanced finish. This is a delicately complex wine with inputs from both varieties marrying into this particularly unique style, new to Leeuwin Estate.Ideally drunk with a full bodied shellfish such as lobster or poached scollops with lemon beurre blanc. Also an ideal aperitif wine.
