This is the second of Bill Moularadellis’ varietal reds and again a must for wine lovers. One does not get the chance to try a lot of straight mulberries and for this reason alone it is worth tasting, as well as for the shear quality of the wine. Malbec can prove to be a difficult variety to grow and clonal selection is important. The variety makes an excellent contribution to a wines colour, flavour and tannin.Excellent colour, crimson purple mauve. Medium body. The nose is very pronounced with aromas of spice, exotic incense, mixed berries, confectionery, violets, ripe blackberry and dark cherry. Mouthfilling palate with flavour of blackberry, over a slightly medicinal flavour with a touch of California poppy at the end. The tannins are very dry, firm and furry and bring an added dimension to the back palate and aftertaste, leaving the inside of the lips very dry. Cellar 3-5 years.
