The Kingsbury range of indie bottlings are hand selected (mostly) for the Japanese market by proprietor, Katsuhiko Tanaka with assistance from Springbank's Gordon Wright. A very small volume have just landed in Australia, including this Tomintoul which Jim Murray was enamoured with (review below).

Tasting note: [20ml sample] Bright straw gold. Cocoa, bircher muesli opening sniffs. The spices slowly give way to stewed orchard fruits, becoming floral-soft, pure, perfumed. Final pass finds this more nutty, gingery, dried fruit like. On the palate it's chocolaty and quite spicy. Handles plenty of water which turns it creamy/oily but pulls in the aftertaste. 59% Alc./Vol. Non chill filtered.

Other reviews... Cask No.9525. Cadbury's fruit'n'nut chocolate - with the emphasis on the fruit and with a few fat, freshly squashed sultanas added for good measure; salivating, though here for the unusual reason of intense fruit and spice. The barley arrives late and with an apology...oh, those spices, and back we go the fruit and nut chocolate- though with an odd bit of Jamaica spice....What a wonderful surprise this is! Technically faultless!
