The 1998 Jamiesons Run Red is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (55%), Shiraz (40%), and Merlot (5%). All the grapes were sourced from premium cool climate vineyards in South Australia’s famous Coonawarra region. A single wire trellis and minimal irrigation is used to ensure optimum balance of fruit and foliage, and desirable small berries for maximum fruit flavours.
1999 was an excellent vintage in Coonawarra. Growing conditions throughout the season were close to perfect. The fruit showed wonderful colours, aromatic violets, strong varietal cassis and mint in a structure with finely grained tannins.
Following crushing, the individual parcels of wine underwent extended fermentation and maceration in stainless steel tanks. The separate parcels were matured in French and American oak at the Jamiesons Run winery prior to blending. After blending, the wine was returned to a variety of new American and French oak for a further 3 months to complete maturation.

Deep red colour with crimson hues. On the nose there is an abundance of sweet berry fruits with hints of violets, plum and spice. Intense aromas are enhanced by subtle use of French and American oak. The palate full and rich with fruit and wood flavours perfectly integrated in a long, finely textured finish. Cellar 4 to 6 years.Alcohol: 13.5%
