1999 Isle of Jura Boutique Barrels XU Bourbon Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

Part of the Jura distillery's 'Boutique Barrels' series of single cask whiskies, bottled at full cask strength.

Tasting note: Gold colour with pale gold hue. Clean, sweet wood smoke notes infuse lanolin, brine and aniseed with still sweeter biscuity, fruity notes. The palate delivers a powerful flavour wave of sweet spices (rosemary in particular?) with the smokey malt unfolding with excellent length into burnt tobacco, salt water and drying charry oak. Excellent balance at cask strength. A very spicy, salt and pepper wave lasts long into the aftertaste finishing with a subtle lanolin fade. Jura at full throttle. 55% Alc./Vol.
