1999 Hay Shed Hill Chardonnay

For the information of viticulturistics, the clones for this wine are Mendoza, something to remember for the next dinner party conversation - not only will you be able to pick what side of the hill the wine came from, but also state with authority, the clones from which the wine was produced from (that'll be a hard act to follow!).Bright pale straw colour. Excellent nose, with classic barrel ferment aroma of cashews, yeast lees and nut. Full bodied, with complex palate flavours, quite dry, with yeast lees and roast nut dominant over an underlay of melon and fig. Clean finish, followed by long biscuit, yeast lees and nut aftertaste. Cellar 2-3 years.
