Whilst this wine has many positive qualities, it appears to be too overripe, and dominated by stewed fruit and tar characteristics. Very deep crimson black colour, with black crimson edge. On the nose, aroma of spice, fresh liquorice, very ripe dark plums, dark chocolate and cherry ripe. The palate is the beginning of the big disappointment. Overripe fruit is layered with flavours of tar, liquorice and spice. Fine grained tannins are followed by a strong long tarry aftertaste, leaving ripe plum and stewed fruit flavours in the background.
