1999 Guelbenzu Azul Cabernet Sauvignon Tempranillo Merlot

The least expensive of the Guelbenzu wines, and a reminder that no matter where in the world you get what you pay for.
Very deep brick red colour, with deep crimson hues. On the nose, strong earthy dusty notes, with a hint of plum emerging. On the palate flavours of earth and plum are dominant with a firmish tannin structure. Moderate length, followed by a plum, earth, spice aftertaste. Cellar 3 – 4 years. (2004 – 2005)
