1999 Glenlyon Vintners Shiraz

A new Victorian vineyard, situated near the tiny high profile Victorian tourist town of Daylesford.Opaque crimson colour with mauve edges. The nose displays a smoky 'spoiled fruit' aroma indicative of poor fruit handling, followed by some chocolate and cinnamon end notes. On the palate, overripe, spoiled fruits dominate with very ripe blackberries and spice on the aftertaste. Fine grained tannins. If Glenlyon Vintners are to succeed in this highly competitive market, they had better get their act together quickly. Cellar 2-3 years.
