The French producers from the Cote de Rhone, would call this an ‘animal wine’, in Australia, the wine is referred to being old fashioned, and can draw parallels with the wines from Hunter Valley and McLaren Vale in the mid 1960’s.Deep crimson mauve colour. Earthy, farmyard, blackberry nose, with very distinct ‘Rhone animal' character. On the palate the earthy farmyard quality is very pronounced and extends well back into the aftertaste. Fine grained tannins excellent balance, slightly bitter back palate, with long farmyard, 'animal' aftertaste. Cellar 3-4 years.
