An outstanding example from Dominion wines. The wine was made from low yielding vines, fermented in small open fermenters, hand plugged and matured in 80% French, 20% American oak. Very deep crimson colour, almost opaque. Excellent aromas of mint, spice and blackberry followed by spicy cinnamon and black pepper end notes. On the palate, flavours of liquorice, mint and spice, with background flavours of cinnamon, black pepper and inky plum. Fine dry tannin structure. Perfect balance, with very long inky plum, black pepper and iodine aftertaste.Cellar 4-5 years.
