1999 Deakin Estate Select Chardonnay

A barrel fermented chardonnay that has spent 10 months in new and 1 year old French and American oak. Bright straw colour. The nose shows considerable complexity with distinct barrel ferment aromas of biscuit, almond, yeast lees and honeyed toast. Mouthfilling palate, creamy texture, followed by flavours of butterscotch cinnamon and spice. Slightly coarse on the back palate followed by nutty toast aftertaste and a slightly bitter finish. Cellar 1-2 years.
