GRAPE VARIETY
100 % Syrah.

SOIL
This wine is produced exclusively on the Méal hillside, high terraces of round stones and clays. It is an old Hermitage wine from 50 year old vines.

HARVEST
Hand harvested at maturity. Natural proof above 13% alcohol.

VINIFICATION
The harvest, totally de-stemmed, is vinified in a small cement vat. Maceration is long and lasts for 5 to 6 weeks.

MATURING
All the wine is matured in new casks or in casks having matured wine once before. Maturing lasts 14 to 18 months. Natural clarification. Unfiltered and unfined.

TASTING
Colour : Deep red garnet with violet highlights during the first years.
Nose :Ripe fruits during the early years.
Palate : Powerful tannins, mellow, stewed blackberries, can be kept for a considerable time.
