1999 Casella Cottlers Bridge Merlot

An excellent, everyday quaffer. Medium weight, crimson mauve colour. Youthful, but appealing spicy cinnamon top notes followed by pepper and mixed berries. The palate has a generous degree of flavour with the mixed berry cinnamon components dominant. Good weight and depth, fine grained firmish tannins with inky plum and cinnamon aftertaste. Cellar 2-3 years.

A well made soft commercial quaffer. Light weight with brick red colour. The nose displays aromas of cinnamon and spice over a plum background. The palate is appealing, with the flavours of ripe sweet fruit with plum and spice to the forefront and enhanced by a distinct cinnamon background. Soft tannins, slightly warm back palate, followed by spice and cinnamon aftertaste. Cellar 1-2 years.
