1999 Cape Mentelle Trinders Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot

This is the best Trinders that we can recall. Made from a blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 36% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot.Very deep crimson colour, with a dark crimson heart. Superb aroma of earth and truffle (dominated by the Merlot component), followed by hints of old leather and blackcurrant. The wine has considerably more weight and depth than previous vintages and is enhanced by fine grained dry tannins, followed by long aftertaste of spice, cedar and truffles. Cellar 4-5 years.
