1999 Burge Family Olive Hill Shiraz Grenache Mourvedre

The Burge Family are true boutique winemakers. 400 cases of this excellent wine were made, consisting of a blend of 43% Shiraz, 34% Grenache and 23% Mourvedre.Very deep, crimson mauve colour. Classic Rhone 'animal' nose, with aromas of earth, over a background of plum, raspberry, liquorice and toasted oak. The wine has excellent palate weight with distinctive flavours of plum, raspberry, blackpeppers and spice, followed by a touch of oak. Fine grained, firmish tannins, yet well balanced, followed by a long plum, raspberry and blackpepper aftertaste. Cellar 3-4 years.
