Like the 1998 vintage, this wine consists of a blend of Grenache, Shiraz and Mourvedre, but has spent only 12 months in oak. Medium body, crimson brick red colour. The nose is delicately perfumed, with a hint of animal and truffle emerging over layers of leather, raspberry and spice. On the palate, the dominant flavours are raspberry, truffle and spice. Quite dry, very good balance, followed by a long spice, raspberry and cedar aftertaste.
