Wolf Blass is one of Australia's most awarded premium wine makers, and one of the country's most successful exporters. Since 1973, Wolf Blass wines have amassed more than 3000 medals and trophies at national and international wine shows.Premium Cabernet Sauvignon fruit is sourced from a selection of the company's own vineyards and those of selected growers located in some of the premier viticultural regions in South Australia. The fruit was allowed to fully ripen, and machine harvested at night at optimum cool temperatures. Vintage 1998 was considered one of Australia's best of the decade and the 1998 Yellow Label is probably the best made in the past four years.Following pressing, the juice and skins were transferred to stainless steel fermenting tanks. Traditional fermentation and cap management techniques were employed and the wine was transferred to new oak to complete fermentation. The wine was racked and stored in a combination of new French and American oak for 12 months maturation. The Wolf Blass Yellow Label has established an international reputation for excellence, based on the rich fruit flavours and easy drinkability of the wine. Produced from Cabernet Sauvignon grown solely in South Australia's premier viticultural regions, the wine has a deep, rich red colour with a bouquet showing integrated aromas of oak, mint and fruit characters. It is soft and round, with a lingering finish in the traditional style of the Yellow Label drinkability. Drink now or cellar 4-6 years. 13.1% alcohol volume.
