This is the weakest of the Willespie wines. Bright pale straw colour. Restrained nose displaying grassy, tropical fruit, spice and melon aromas. The palate is full bodied but lacks complexity and concentration of flavour. Subtle flavours of aniseed, confectionary and spice combine with a rather warm back palate. Sharp acidity, with subtle tropical fruit and aniseed aftertaste. Cellar 1-2 years.

Retasted 20/04/2003: This wine is beginning to show its age. Bright pale straw colour with just a hint of spritzig evident. The nose and palate have taken a turn away from the youthful colour to reveal an oxidised top note, followed by melon and tropical fruit end notes. Full bodied palate, however, the fruit flavours are beginning to fade and oxidised flavours have begun to emerge. The acidity is holding up for the short term.
