1998 Vasse Felix Chardonnay

Made from some of the oldest chardonnay vines in the South East Region of Western Australia the wine is matured in predominantly new French and some American oak barrels. All barrels are fermented in cool rooms at 12C to better preserve the fruit flavours in the wine. After ten months in oak the final blending occurs with a portion of unoaked chardonnay producing a wine of subtle oak complexity, length and mouth filling flavour.Pale straw colour. The nose displays aromas of cumquats, pineapples and savoury yeast . The palate is filled with rich fruit with subtle oak influences in the background. Long aftertaste. Drink now or cellar 3-4 years. 13.7% alcohol volume.
