Notes sourced from Stanton & Killeen.

In 1921 fourth generation winemaking Jack Stanton planted a block of Shiraz grapes on his Gracerray Vineyard. It survives today and still produces the supreme quality fruit used in this great wine. Only the best vintages are released under this label and we consider this wine worthy of the honour in recognising Jack Stanton's 50 years contribution to the Rutherglen and Australian Wine Industry.

Made from 100% Shiraz the fruit for this wine was sourced from Stanton and Killeen Jack's Block Vineyard with 77 year old vines planted by Jack Stanton in 1921. The wine was matured for 15 months in American and French oak puncheons and hogsheads. This is a classic rich Rutherglen red with intense fruit and plum characters in the nose augmented by the fresh new oak used in its maturation. The palate has rich ripe flavours with good fruit weight and excellent flavour persistence. Drinkable now yet will cellar well for up to 6 - 10 years. 14.5% alcohol volume.
