1998 Stanton & Killeen Cabernet Shiraz

A wine that displays distinct Rutherglen, regional character. Made from a blend of equal portions of Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz. Deep crimson colour with mauve edges. The nose displays very ripe fruit aromas and is verging on being porty, but that is the Rutherglen style of old. Aromas of liquorice, prune and ripe plum followed by a tarry end note. On the palate the flavours again are generous, with over ripe fruit dominating. Flavours of very ripe plum, spice, very ripe stewed fruits, vanilla and spice. Fine grained well balanced tannins, followed by stewed fruit and a tarry aftertaste. Cellar 3-4 years.
