1998 Saltram No. 1 Shiraz

A big ripe, concentrated wine. Opaque crimson black colour. The nosedisplays a hint of volatility, but it is quite restrained and providesexcellent lift to the nose. Aroma of violets, spice, blackberry andliquorice. The palate is mouthfilling with its voluptuous ripe fruitflavours - blackberry, liquorice and vanilla are supported by very finedry tannins, which in spite of their relative firmness are well balancedby the huge fruit flavours. Very long aftertaste of dark chocolate,spice, vanilla, liquorice and mocha.Cellar 4-5 years (2005-2006).
