1998 Prentice Nebbiolo

This wine is unfiltered. We have to admit that we are far from convinced by the majority of Italian varietal wines produced in Australia, however winemakers persist and at the end of the day, somebody is buying the wine. Relatively light body with brick red, browning colour, showing signs of age. The nose is delicately perfumed with aroma of cedar and leather followed by truffle, spice and confectionary. On the palate, flavours of earth, spice, leather and prunes followed by a very peppery background. Fine grained very dry tannins which are quite persistent. Long leather earth aftertaste.
