- Closure: Cork
Sauvignon Blanc with a strong Sancerre influence. Fresh uplifted grassy, herbaceous nose, with dusty Sauvignon overtones. The palate has good weight and depth of flavour with dusty, herbaceous flavours dominant, followed by some ripe gooseberry characters on the back palate. Excellent acid balance - not like some leaner styles which leave the mouth in a coating of acidity. Long vegetative and ripe gooseberry aftertaste. Cellar 1-2 years.
RETASTED 26/06/1999: This is a fine example of Sauvignon Blanc made in the vegetal style. Bright pale straw colour. The nose displays aromas of green tea followed by strong grassy, herbaceous and asparagus overtones. The palate flavours are very distinct dominated by grassy, tropical fruit, herbaceous green tea and gooseberry flavours. The vegetal flavour spectrum is very dominant. Clean finish followed by strong varietal aftertaste. Cellar 1-2 years.
