1998 Montana Reserve Merlot

Deep crimson mauve colour. Excellent ripe fruit aromas of mulberry, blackcurrant, liquorice, spice and cedar finishing with an earthy end note. On the palate mulberry fruit flavours persist, however, without a great deal of depth or concentration. Finally, the spice and blackpepper end flavours emerge which linger well into the aftertaste. Fine, firmish tannins, a touch aggressive, but will merge with the fruit in 3-4 years time.
