1998 Leasingham Bin 61 Shiraz

This is yet another outstanding red from the near perfect 1998 vintage. The wine was matured in a combination of American and French oak hogsheads and barriques for approximately 18 months. Opaque, crimson purple colour with mauve edges. Intense aroma of blackberries, plum, earth and spice followed by end notes of liquorice and confectionery. The palate is generous, full bodied with abundant ripe fruit flavours. Mouthfilling with flavours of spice, blackpepper, earth and ripe plum, followed by a strong peppery end palate. Fine grained, well balanced tannins, followed by a very long aftertaste of plum, liquorice and earth. The wine has been awarded 2 trophies and 1 Gold medal. Outstanding value – stocks are very limited.
