1998 Highbank Vineyards Limestone Coast Estate Cabernet Sauvignon

This wine has a wonderful sniff of Cabernet. Opaque black crimson colour. Superb, perfumed nose with top note of violets, earth, truffle and spice, followed by blackcurrant, cedar and leather. On the palate, flavours of blackcurrant, spice and cedar – the structure is relatively tight, with backpalate flavours of dark chocolate and blackcurrant. Fine grained, velvet smooth tannins, followed by an exceptionally long aftertaste of cedar, blackcurrant, and spice. Cellar 3 – 4 years. (2004-2005)
