A good value for money Pinot made in the lighter style. The wine has been left unfiltered in order to maximise flavour. Medium weight crimson red colour with mauve edge. Appealing nose with varietal definition. Aromas of spice, confectionary, cherry and raspberry. On the palate the cherry flavour component is dominant and is followed by a distinctly peppery end palate. The acid levels are a touch high and the palate flavours dilute towards the end. Spice, pepper, cherry, strawberry aftertaste. Drink over summer.

Retasted April 2000

Impressive colour for Pinot Noir. Medium body, ruby red colour. The nose displays good varietal character with strawberry, spice aromas to the forefront, followed by a gamey end note. Good weight and mouthfeel, but no powerhouse. Flavours of strawberry and spice, relatively light. Velvet soft tannins with a subtle strawberry, spice and liquorice aftertaste. Cellar 3-4 years.
