1998 Charles Sturt Cabernet Sauvignon Shiraz Merlot

Charles Sturt University has been producing a consistent selection of great quality and value for money wines. This particular wine is made from grapes sourced from the University's own vineyard at Wagga Wagga and contains a small percentage of Cabernet Franc. Deep crimson colour. The nose displays aromas of violets, plum, spice and a peppery background. The palate has plenty of youthful flavour and a structure to ensure 4-5 years bottle age. Blackcurrants, mulberry, spice and liquorice flavours are supported by fine grained, yet firm tannins which are well balanced and follow through to an inky blackberry and spice finish. Cellar 3-4 years.
