Old vines Grenache has been rediscovered and the top quality parcels that have come from d'Arenberg, Woodstock and now Charles Cimicky offer extraordinary value for money. With Winter on the way savour some of these wines with beef stew, or if you should be so lucky - a haunch of wild venison. An outstanding example of Grenache made from vines planted 94 years ago. Very deep crimson mauve colour, almost opaque. Magnificent nose with lifted aromas of spice, raspberry and liquorice. The palate explodes with flavour, superb ripe fruit - mouthfilling. Ripe mixed berries, raspberries, liquorice and spice. Excellent depth of flavour and concentration - perfect balance, fine grained dry tannins, with very long plum, raspberry, liquorice and spice aftertaste. Cellar for 5-8 years.
