Produced from vines grown on the Concongella Vineyard. This is the wine that won the award for the Best Pinot Noir at the 2000 Melbourne Show.Deep crimson colour with mauve edges. Outstanding colour for a Pinot Noir, which being a low pigment varietal is unusually more brick red to brown in colour. The nose is equally impressive, with aromas of spice, cherry and strawberry. On the palate the wine displays good weight and mouthfeel, with cherry, spice palate flavours dominant, over a hint of toasted oak. Excellent length, fine grained, velvet smooth tannins, followed by a long cherry and spice aftertaste. We must add that whilst this wine has very good varietal qualities, we would have reservations in declaring the wine to be great, however, allow 3- 4 years for complexity to build in the bottle.
