1998 Berrys Bridge Shiraz

Last year we reviewed the 1997 vintage and  we stated that this was avineyard to watch. The 1998 vintage is the one to buy!  This is amonumental wine.Totally opaque, crimson, purple colour, clinging to the sides of theglass like transparent paint.  Intense peppery crushed blackberry nose,total concentrate of blackberry and blackpepper.  The palate is immenseand reflects the very generous 15.5% Alcohol  volume, but is by no meanshot or jammy.  On the palate the blackpepper flavours are explosive,followed by an abundance of liquorice, spice and blackberry flavours,which remains well into the aftertaste, lasting for several minutes.Perfect balance with 5-8 years cellaring potential.  Stocks are limited.
