1998 Ashwood Grove Chardonnay

Pale brass colour with a hint of green. The nose is very appealing, filled with the aromas of ripe peach, melon, vanillan oak and spice. The grapes for this wine were picked at 3 levels of ripeness, early, mid season and late in order to provide the maximum range of palate flavours. Full bodied palate with peach, citrus, vanilla and spice dominating. Just a touch coarse and at the time of tasting the peach, melon and citrus components had not fully integrated, leaving the citrus to dominate. A very good everyday full bodied white that needs a couple of years bottle age. Cellar 2-3 years.
