The new range of Garrett wines offers wine lovers the traditional, full flavoured Andrew Garrett style of wines at an incredibly good value price. The fruit was picked in the cool of the night to ensure varietal character is retained. After picking, the fruit was transferred to the Andrew Garrett winery in McLaren Vale for processing. Following crushing, the juice was cold fermented slowly in stainless steel tanks at around 15 degrees. A portion of the Chardonnay component underwent malo-lactic fermentation to give the wine a softer, creamy mouthfeel. A small amount of oak maturation was undertaken to add complexity to the finished wine. The Garrett Semillon Chardonnay is a classic modern Australian blend of these two famous varieties. The wine comprises 57% Semillion and 43% Chardonnay grown in the Barossa Valley and McLaren Vale regions. The palate is medium weight with soft toasty butterscotch melon fruit characters made complex with a hint of oak. Cellar 2 years.Suggested Food: A wine made with modern Australian food in mind perfect with a salad of smoked chicken and citrus or fresh seafood. 12.7% alcohol volume.
