1997 Woodstock Grenache

This must be one of the best value for money Grenache wines on the market, given that it is produced from 80 year old vines. Deep crimson mauve colour. The nose displays considerable complexity with aromas of earth, confectionary, leather, raspberry and spice. On the palate there are ripe plums, stewed fruits, raspberries and spice flavours with a hint of liquorice in the background. Fine dry tannins which are in balance to the generous fruit flavours, followed by a warm finish, with spice, raspberry, chocolate, liquorice and earth aftertaste. Cellar 3-5 years.
