Glenrothes has a distinct style, thanks to the frequent use of sherry casks. After a first maturation in a second fill sherry cask, Wilson & Morgan wanted to enhance the fruity and winey character a little bit more. Their choice fell on a Marsala cask, which has enriched the original sherry style in an interesting way. Very limited stocks.

Tasting note: Deep amber gold. Ripe and fruity aromas hinting at orange zest or stewed peaches(?), sweetening after air contact with suggestions of milk chocolate, caramel nib and roasted nuts. The Marsala has had quite an impact, resulting in a rich, round Glenrothes that's creamy and lush with fruity-spicy-malt and a mouth coating feel. Dried apricots and light marmalade through the finish. Mildly tannic to close, with the sherry input rebounding late. An after dinner style you can enjoy at natural strength. 56.4% Alc./Vol. 279 bottles.
