1997 Sorrenberg Cabernet Sauvignon Cabernet Franc Merlot

A worrying deep brick red colour, showing signs of a pH imbalance. The nose displays aromas of spice, ripe plums, stewed fruits, vanilla and confectionery, with some mulberry overtones. The palate is leaner than the nose suggests, with plum, spice, chocolate and vanilla flavours emerging. The tannins are fine, dry, yet the back palate is left with a warm finish and plum, chocolate, spice and blackpepper aftertaste. Cellar 2-3 years.
