1997 Orlando Centenary Hill Shiraz

This wine is beginning to show its age. Very deep brick red colour with brick red hue. Aroma of stewed fruit, cedar, spice and plum. The palate fruit flavours are beginning to dry out. Flavours of stewed fruit, confectionary and cedar emerge. The tannins have softened. Cedar, plum aftertaste.

First tasted, July 2003:
A superb perfumed example of Shiraz, drinking very well now. Very deep crimson colour with deep crimson hue. Aroma of dark plum, spice, dark chocolate and prunes. Mouthfilling palate with complex layers of vanilla, cedar, spice and prunes followed by a layer of liquorice and leather. Very fine tannins, perfect balance, followed by a very long cedar, blackpepper, prune, plum and leather aftertaste.
