The azienda Agricola Mastroianni, founded in 1976, cultivates a little more than 44 acres of vineyards. Situated on the south east slope of the town of Montalcino, above where the Asso river flows into the Orcia. The vineyards receive the beneficial climatic influence of a volcano, the nearby Mount Amiata. The soil, the south east exposure, the gentle slope of the Tuscan hills, together with Mastroianni's dedication, guarantee the highest quality of it's production.

Made from 75% Sangiovese Grosso and 25% Cabernet Sauvignon in the DOCG zone of Montalcino in the central western region of Tuscany.
Fermentation occurs separately for each variety for approximately 15 days at a constant temperature. Still separated the wine is matured for 18 months in small French oak casks. The wine then spends 3 months in a cement vat where the two varieties amalgamate before being bottled. Finally a period of five months of resting in the cellar before release.
Try With: Roasted meats and baked dishes

TASTING NOTE : Made from a blend of Sangiovese Grosso and Cabernet Sauvignon. Brick red colour with brick red hue. Medium body. Aroma of stewed fruit, leather, spice, truffle and earth. Excellent balance, with earthy spice palate followed by fine dry tannins. Earthy truffle aftertaste.
